John Davies is a technology architect and fintech pioneer whose career spans decades of leadership at major financial institutions and global payments companies.
Expertise
As Global Chief Architect at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and BNP Paribas, and later Head of Engineering for Visa’s Checkout and V.me platforms, John built large-scale systems that powered global trading, payments, and enterprise operations.
At Linguard Labs, John leads the Labs technology agenda and advises on how regulated institutions can deploy high-performance, secure, and policy-aware finance-grade infrastructure.
Immediately following his academic career in astrophysics and mathematics, John played a foundational role in the development of Java programming language.
At BNP Paribas, he led global architecture for FX and derivatives platforms, then moved to JPMorgan Chase & Co. as Global Chief Architect for trading and market-structure engineering.
Following that, he served as Head of Engineering for Visa’s Checkout initiative (formerly V.me), which is now responsible for executing every internet-based Visa transaction world-wide. He later co-founded fintech firms specializing in data messaging, ISO 20022/SWIFT optimization and enterprise integration.
